4 The Record opens Springfest for Quietdrive

4 The Record opens for internationally recognized alternative rock group and recording artists Quietdrive at Ohio State Marion/Marion Technical College's campuswide celebration Springfest, Saturday, May 21, 2011, 7 p.m. on the Marion campus.Springfest features a day of live musical entertainment, food, inflatables, games, displays, and much more, beginning at noon. The day will conclude with a live performances by 4 The Record and headlined by Quietdrive on the mainstage.
Formed in Minneapolis in 2003, Quietdrive toured the Midwest gaining notoriety from their energy-driven, live shows and their clever use of marketing over the Internet (MySpace.com). By late 2004, they signed with industry giant Epic Records and released their first album, titled When All That’s Left Is You in May of 2006. The song, Rise from the Ashes from this LP was featured on the Electronic Arts’ Sports NHL 07 Soundtrack.
Later in 2006, Quietdrive released their cover of the Cyndi Lauper song Time After Time and received nationwide radio play coming in at 57 on the U.S. Pop 100 Chart and 25th on the American Top 40 in 2007. This single was featured in the soundtrack for the feature film, John Tucker Must Die in 2006, and featured in the trailer to the 2008 remake of the film Prom Night. The song was also used by the WNBA’s “Have You Seen Her?” advertising campaign.
In January of 2007, the band was featured as “Artist of the Month” on Xbox Live. October 2008 brought the release of Quietdrive’s second full-length album Deliverance, and a new label, The Militia Group; launching their international tour in the US, UK, and Japan. The singles off this album, Kissing your Lips, Deliverance, and Hollywood appeared on the XBOX360 snowboarding game soundtrack, STOKED (2009).
The band released their EP Close Your Eyes in October 2009 on their independent label, Sneaker 2 Bombs Records and in December of 2010 they released their self-titled album Quietdrive. Currently on tour, the band is taking time to stop by The Ohio State University at Marion to perform at Springfest 2011.Quietdrive has played in three Van’s Warped Tours, toured the world and played with many notable bands such as Bowling For Soup, Boys Like Girls, and an upcoming show in May with Lifehouse. The band will be touring all summer and in the fall, to support their Japanese label, they will be touring in Japan. The band also recently went to play for the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In addition to the band Quietdrive and opening act 4 The Record, other live entertainment will include a compilation of community and student acoustic artists who have performed for the Campus Coffee House Series, in addition to the ToGay Show with Brad and Chance.
4 The Record Chosen for National A Cappella Showcase

Great Lakes vocal band 4 The Record was one of seven groups chosen from a pool of groups throughout the eastern U.S. to perform and compete at the 27th Annual Mid-Atlantic Harmony Sweepstakes, Saturday, April 2, at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA.
In addition to 4 The Record, performers included sweeps winner DaCapo, The Agency, DoubleShot, Loose Interpretations, Justus, and Harmonization Without Representation.
The Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival is the premier American showcase for vocal harmony music. The annual national competition draws from hundreds of vocal groups from around the country with regional competitions in eight cities. The winning group from each festival is flown to perform in front of celebrity judges and a sold out house of enthusiastic a cappella fans at the National Finals.

4 The Record joined some of the country's top magicians at Lifestyles Pavillion, Columbus, Ohio, Saturday, March 11, to provide an evening of fun, music, and magical entertainment for those in attendance at Miracles and Magic.
Miracles and Magic is an annual fundraising performance featuring the country's top magicians and performers raising money for A Kid Again. This special event was originally created for children with life threatening illnesses to provide them a day away from treatments, hospital beds and the stresses of their daily lives. Now open to the general public, Miracles & Magic has featured local, national, and international performers who have come to take part in this annual event and offer the best medicine possible … laughter!Miracles & Magic is now approaching its ninth year in bringing first-class entertainment to Ohio. Proceeds from Miracles & Magic directly benefit A Kid Again, as this is the only event for the children and their families that also raises funds for the year-round programs offered by A Kid Again. To date, the event has raised over $978,000 to continue to support adventures that provide hope, fun and a chance for every child in our program to be … A Kid Again!
SingStrong's AcaIdol Welcomes 4TR for 2nd Year

Organizers of the Annual International A Cappella Music Festival SingStrong, once again chose 4 The Record as one of 10 groups to perform in the opening night of the three day March 2011 music festival, which raises funds for Alzheimers research. Other groups performing at the festival included: The Bobs, The Glue, Fii, Blue Jupiter, Street Corner Symphony from NBC's hit show The Singoff, The Essentials, West Side Five, and a host of other semi-professional, collegiate, and high school a cappella groups.
